Oregon Road Trip continued ASTORIA

After visiting with Jerri we rode through Portland ( I waved at LeeAnn as we passed her exit she wasn't home she was on a cruise. FUN) to Astoria. We had rain and sun and drizzle and rain but it just added to the adventure.
We did have to stop for a while because the rain was so hard but after about 1/2 hour we were on the road again.
Astoria has an interesting history behind it.
When it was first built it was all on a boardwalk over the ocean. The pictures around town show that the kids use to fish through the wooden sidewalks of the town. These pictures show the remains after it burnt down twice.

Interesting place Astoria is. Beautiful and full of a lot of history that I had never heard of.

We were at the Maritime Museum when we took these pictures. The bridge behind Tom is about 4 miles long. It goes across the Columbia river to Washington. I'm on an anchor that was in the paring lot area. It was a great place to visit.
