What a Weekend!!!

Tom and I had 5 of our grandkids here this past Memorial Day weekend. Carolyn and Brant wanted a little time for themselves so we kept their kids from Friday morning until Monday afternoon and we tended for Sariah on Friday and Saturday. It was a great time. The kids love to get togetheer and play.
On our back deck we have an old white stand that my parents have had for years. Brock, Kamden and Merric pretended it was a bunk bed set and they were having such a great time playing sleepover in the back yard.

After they pretended they were sleeping on the bunk bed set they would run over to the chair and pretend to eat something and run back to the bunk bed. It was very fun to watch them do this. It went on for about a half hour untin they decided to cook something with the pine cones. They ran behind our evergreen bushes and through all the pine needles they could on top of the evergreens and took big sticks and pretended to stir them as they were cooking. They have great imaginations!!!

Cierra and Breein played bubbles a lot and they swang on the swing set and they pretend that the play house part of the swing set is a boat and they would slide down the slide into the water and hurry and climb up the climbing wall to the boat again. They would do it all agian and swing and sing what ever was in their heads. It was fun to see them have such a good time. That was a fun game but the bubbles were what they enjoyed the most, I think.

After a hard day at playin, the kids came in and enjoyed a movie before it was dinner time. These little ones love to be together and they always sit so close to one another I just thought this picture was cute.

These are the great rewards of being grandparents. You get to love the little one's again and again and enjoy all the fun they bring into life and their smiles and love they have. We love our grandkids and had a great time with them this past weekend.

THANKS FOR BEING SUCH WONDERFUL CHILDREN!!!! WE LOVE YOU!!!

Our little Bianca was here some of the time too, she is getting so big!! She is starting to eat cereal and starting to experience many different textures and she seems to love it!!

Rodney and Lyn's wedding

We were so glad that so many people were able to come to the wedding of Rodney and Laralyn and we wanted to share some of the pictures. They were married on March 13th 2008. The day was a little cold but not to bad. Laralyn's mom and friends decorated the cultural hall so beautifully that you felt as though you were on an evening picnic in a beautiful garden.First off we want to thank Connie, Tom's sister, our wonderful photographer. She has done the pictures at almost all of our children's weddings and there is no one better. Thanks Connie, We LOVE You!!!

There were many family members that came and some really good friends. Lots of the people we didn't know, they were friends of Laralyn's family but it was fun to get to know them for a minute.

First there was Eliza, Rodney's sister and Laralyn's brides maid. She was the most beautiful one there. WE LOVE YOU Eliza. You are always so much fun and you make us laugh!

We also had Jerry, Tom's sister who came from Oregon. We don't get to see her very often so it was great to have her. She was a great help with all the kids!! Thanks Jerry for coming. WE LOVE YOU!!!

Surgery Afternoon

Tom arrived at his room on the 4th floor at about 12:00 pm and the first thing he did was lift up his left hand and said "I have my feeling in my fingers without so much tingling".
Dr Leavitt said things went great and so he was on his way to recovery.

He rested most of the dayExcept when he was talking on the phone.

His business is good and we can't complain.Tom did great from that time on and got up and went for a walk by 3:00pm

But by the next morning he was ready to go and the Dr. didn't come in until 10:00 ish to discharge him so we just hung around for a while but when it was time to go, he
was out the door!!!

Hope everyone enjoyed sharing Tom's exciting day!!

Tom's Surgery Day

Well needless to say Tom slept like a baby last night but I had a sleepless night. That was ok because it made him lots of fun this morning. I started taking pictures of our patient right away this morning so everyone could feel a part of our day. This is how good he looks every morning but after his shower he looks much better.
We had to be at the hospital at 8:oo am and he checked in and they got going pretty quick. He got to ware a beautiful gown in a lovely color green.
Next, Sue came in and took is blood pressure and so forth and then put in his IV.
She didn't get it in the first try. She said he has thick veins so she started one on the inside of his arm and got it right away. He was so brave, but nervous!
After that his Dr. Leavitt came in and visited for a minute asking and answering questions that he had. She cleared up the matter of how much he can lift and how long he can work starting Monday and she giggled when she heard his plans. She is really nice.

So she wouldn't get confused she pointed to where she was going to cut and then she wrote yes on his neck.

After Dr Leavitt, Dr. Roberts, who would be putting him to sleep came in and talked and joked

with Tom. They made him feel really comfortable. She was funny.

Then he started getting really nervous so they let him go pottie and watch some TV .

After that they came in and gave him some "I don't care medicine". They said it was to make him not so nervous but I think it was to make him not care how they were going to dress him before they took him in to surgery.

Cute as a button, don't you agree. GOOD LUCK TOM, WE ALL LOVE YOU!!!
